I love finding rusty, forgotten machines at garage sales, scrubbing the keys clean, oiling the gears, and repainting the bodies until they shine. My desk is filled with working typewriters in pastel blues, mint greens, and classic black. Typing letters to friends on them feels magical—like stepping back in time. I really dislike it when people use them as “just decoration” instead of appreciating them as the working art pieces they are.
